Words perfect (with a little help from the Handsome Hound)

Welcome to Message Editorial - a new way to drive communications and make sure that you are broadcasting the information you need, nothing more and nothing less. I have been thinking about this venture for quite a while, and I am very excited to be launching it now - in a new decade with clearer vision and a determination to make life better.

I have loved words throughout my life; I was even given a dictionary of antonyms and synonyms when I left primary school at the age of 10. What a cool present that was, no light saber or tapestry kit for me! I suppose my headmistress knew that words and writing would be an essential part of my world long before I did. Thanks, Mrs Cain - you were right.

I cannot help but share my passion for words. Get them right and they are a wonderful resource, but garble the grammar or syntax and your message is lost or mangled.

I have just about got over the alarm I felt when I heard that John Richards of the Apostrophe Protection Society had dotted his final i and crossed his last t (and the relief I felt when others stepped into the breach). And I try to contain my righteous indignation when, while out walking with the Handsome Hound, I spot yet another shopfront with "fully licenced" or "open Sunday's".

Yet I cannot quite give up my urge to help others grow in confidence about the way they express themselves in print. If you think I can give you a hand, please drop me a line at fiona@messageeditorial.com.
